What kind of trips?
Each year, I organise 1–3 independent trips, always outside of Ireland and Italy.
- Overland trips across multiple countries or remote regions
- Slow travel by train, bus and on foot — often including night trains
- Trekking is almost always part of the plan: moderate hikes (3–6 hours/day)
- Accommodation in family-run guesthouses, mountain lodges or rural B&Bs
- Local immersion: food markets, local transport, cultural exchange
What you can expect
- Budget-friendly travel: I plan the trip, you book your flights, accommodation and insurance
- No tour operators: I manage everything independently
- Train and public transport only, avoiding flights or rented buses when possible
- Night trains are often part of the itinerary
- Moderate trekking is almost always included
- We stay in family-run or local accommodations, not luxury hotels
- We enjoy local food, avoiding tourist traps and expensive restaurants
- Small groups only: usually 4–6 people, never more than 8
- International vibe: mostly Irish and Italians — English helps!
- No WhatsApp chaos: I use WhatsApp groups only during the trip, for logistics only
