The Great Africa Traverse: The Complete Journey
Twenty-two days across Africa, told through stories, photographs, videos and sound.
Twenty-two days, six countries and thousands of kilometres later, The Great Africa Traverse is now complete.
What began as an independent journey from the Indian Ocean to the Zambezi became a collection of stories, photographs, sounds and videos, following old railway lines, explorers’ routes and, above all, what happened between one place and the next.
You can now explore the journey in several ways.

The journey ended in Livingstone. The project ends here too.
But the three lines that started it all- the railway, the river and the routes left by those who crossed this part of Africa before us- now lead through 22 stories, five videos, two languages and thousands of photographs and memories.
Thank you for travelling with us.
