Italian Fusion Festival 2023
Radio Dublin, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, presents the Italian Fusion Festival 2023 | Pizza & Prosecco Night. This year, the Festival will take place on 22 October in Dublin from 6pm until late at The Well, St Stephen’s Green, Dublin.
The Festival is dedicated to fostering cultural exchanges between Italy and Ireland through the magic of music, art, and dance. The Italian Fusion Festival, known for its vibrant and diverse program, continues its mission of uniting communities and celebrating the fusion of Italian and Irish artistic talents.
The focus of the festival continues to be the promotion of cultural exchanges between Italy and Ireland through the work of several Italian artists based in Ireland. The 2023 edition will feature some of the best Italian musicians living in Ireland playing in bands whose music is born from the collaboration between Italian, Irish and other nationalities musicians. The participating bands performed on the latest season of Radio Dublin and offer an exciting overview of the latest musical trends in the Dublin scene from folk to jazz, funky to Latin music. Furthermore, for the first time we will host a band from Italy that boasts a long collaboration with Irish musicians.
The festival, however, is more than music. Simultaneous events will be a dance workshop curated by BalFolk Dublin with live music by the BalFolk Ensemble and an art exhibition with works that the Dublin-based Italian artist nerosunero (Mario Sughi) has generously donated for the event and the short film competition. Activities that aim to give the public a complete experience of the meeting between Italian and Irish artistic talents.
After the success of the previous editions, the short film competition will continue this year too. Filmmakers whose work represents the fusion of Italian and Irish cultural elements are invited to submit their short films for the competition. Submission deadline: 12 October 2023.
Pizza and prosecco will be available in the venue on a special entrance ticket to the festival and pizza/prosecco to get the most out of this experience!
